Overview

Fractional Operations Support is a monthly support engagement for businesses that need ongoing help maintaining, improving, and expanding their internal systems.

This is not a passive review role. KBS provides active support within an agreed operational area, system, department, or workflow group. That support may include identifying issues, improving processes, updating documentation, maintaining internal tools, reviewing system performance, and helping resolve operational problems before they become larger issues.

This service is designed for businesses that need continued operational support but may not need a full-time operations leader.

Who This Is For

This service is a good fit for businesses that already have systems in place or have completed an assessment, process design project, or system buildout with KBS.

It may be the right fit if:

  • A system has been built but needs ongoing maintenance

  • Processes need to be reviewed, updated, or improved over time

  • Leadership needs support keeping operational issues from drifting

  • Documentation, trackers, templates, or workflows need regular attention

  • The business needs help following up on open operational issues

  • A defined department, workflow group, or system needs continued structure

  • The business wants operational support without hiring a full-time operations manager

What Is Included

This monthly partnership may include:

  • Regular operations review calls

  • Process updates

  • Documentation support

  • Tracker and template maintenance

  • Workflow adjustments

  • Review of system performance

  • Follow-up on open issues

  • Support for questions and decisions related to the agreed scope

  • Identification of recurring issues or weak points

  • Recommendations for continued improvement

Typical Deliverables

The specific deliverables depend on the agreed scope, but the purpose of the retainer is to keep the selected operational area from slipping back into confusion, inconsistency, or informal workarounds.

KBS helps maintain the system, identify what is not working, make practical improvements, and support follow-through within the agreed monthly hours.

Monthly Support Structure

The standard Fractional Operations Support engagement includes up to 15 hours of support per month and normally begins with a six-month term.

The final support structure, priorities, communication expectations, success measures, and term will be confirmed in the agreed scope.

Success Measures

When appropriate, the scope will also identify how the completed work will be evaluated, such as process adoption, completion rates, reduced handoff failures, documentation use, response time, or another relevant operational measure.

Scope Note

Fractional Operations Support is limited to the defined scope established before the engagement begins. It is not unlimited access, full-company management, or open-ended business support.

KBS will confirm the scope, monthly support hours, deliverables, communication expectations, timeline, and price before paid work begins.
